Roy has been living in his camper van for quite a few years. He has already travelled all over Europe with it, always looking for the perfect wind to kitesurf.
After ten years of living in a factory trailer, it was time for 'the next step'. He decided to buy a 12m long truck and turn it into an off-grid Tiny House on wheels. That way, he had the mobility of a truck combined with the comfort of a tiny house.
Because Roy pretty much always spends the winter in the south, he has enough sun available to support this complex electric off-grid system with solar panels.
For this unique project, Roy contacted Wire-Up with a request to design an all-electric system equipped with solar panels. The idea was to be able to use all his appliances smoothly using only solar power. This means an electric cooker, oven, air conditioner, water heater and even his washing machine.
So we use batteries from Roamer with a capacity of 15kW. This combined with a 5KVA-Multiplus inverter and a total of 4kW of solar panels on the roof of his truck.
