Electrical system for a water sports yacht

Joris has been obsessed with boats and ships since childhood. After years of holidays on his father's boat, he decided to move to London to start his studies as a marine engineer and designer.

After completing his education, Joris gained experience at Fedship to learn the tricks of the trade. Here, he still kept brooding on an idea he had to create a unique luxury yacht equipped with a unique system for water skiing.

Joris joined forces with his father and together they founded B-Craft. After many hours at the drawing board, they were able to realise their first prototype. Initial tests showed that the electric water ski system he had in mind would be quite a challenge.

Together, they designed a patented system to subtly incorporate a waterski winch into the yacht. Besides this innovative system, the prototype also had to exude pure luxury. The electrical system for this yacht had to not only power the waterski system, but also provide space for all control panels, a compact refrigerator and sublime ambient lighting.

B-Craft came to Wire-Up with the request to connect and commission all custom-made electrical components. This was quite a challenge as the bulk of the components were specifically designed for this yacht. After some well-deserved test runs, we were proud to deliver the project.

The next step for B-Craft was to showcase the prototype. To do this, they went to boat shows in Cannes, among other places. The stunning design, the never-before-seen water-ski system and the sublime luxurious details were the ideal combination to warm up potential buyers.

Meanwhile, we can say with satisfaction that the B-Craft Akoya has become a unique yacht. Wire-Up is therefore very proud that we were able to help build their success story.
